What do you like about OB/GYN? I love the tangible, hands-on approach of procedures, but also enjoy complex medical decision-making. OB/GYN truly combines the best parts of medicine, providing a varied day-to-day environment, the opportunity for both medical and surgical management of illness, and a focus on preventive care. In OB/GYN, we have the unique opportunity to get to know a woman often throughout her entire adult life, and I have found these relationships to be a motivating force thus far in my medical training. 

What do you like about Memphis? My favorite part about Memphis is the zoo. I love to take my baby girl for a quick stroll through on a nice day, as well as attend different fun events the zoo puts on throughout the year!

What do you like about the residency program? Our program combines all the best things about community and academic programs. As a regional transfer center we see a breadth of pathology on our resident service, but also have excellent subspecialty exposure and one-on-one teaching with both our generalist and subspecialty faculty. 

What do you like to do outside the medical field: spend time with my husband and our 2 dogs (Ranger and Scout), reading, training for a 5k, karaoke, travel, true crime podcasts, cross stitching  

If you weren't an OB/GYN physician what would have been your career choice and why? If I wasn't an OB/GYN I would be a stay-at-home mom. Since becoming a first-time mother last year, I have truly found my other calling outside of medicine. But I love that I get to show my daughter she can do or be anything she sets her mind to!

Things that no one knows about you but you don’t mind letting people know: I graduated high school with only 18 people in my class, I’ve watched Gilmore Girls and Friends at least 10 times each, I never grew any wisdom teeth
