Benefits and Perks of the Program
As an OB/GYN medical resident at Baptist Memorial Health Care, you may be able to take advantage of a number of benefits and perks available to you. Health insurance, vision insurance, dental insurance, paid time off (PTO) and sick leave are available, as well as fully funded meals and professional leave for pre-approved meetings.
The salary package is competitive for the Memphis area. The rounded salaries, effective July 2026, are:

In addition to the stipend information listed above, Baptist provides:
- Embroidered white coat and soft shell jacket
- $2000 relocation stipend (taxable)
- $3000 towards a board prep course
- Fully funded meals provided through the Physicians’ Dining Room
- ACLS/PALS certification
- Unlimited CONFIDENTIAL counseling sessions for employees and anyone living with the employee through our Baptist Employee Assistant Program (EAP)
- Educational leave for one pre-approved board-review meeting for each resident, including a travel reimbursement package
- $1300 CME/educational fund (over 4 years)
- Health insurance coverage for medical residents and their dependents, including a spouse and children
- Fully funded long-term disability coverage after 30 days of employment
- Fully funded basic life insurance coverage for medical resident
- Vacation/Holiday compensation for up to 23 days per academic year, non-cumulative
- Two (2) annual WELLNESS HALF-DAYS to be used for doctors appointments etc.
- Time off with pay without using PTO to interview for fellowship or employment positions for NO MORE than ten
(10) days’ absence during one program residency year - Malpractice insurance coverage paid by Baptist
